Duotone Platinum Series SLS Carbon Boom

The superlight carbon PLATINUM in AEROSPACE PREPREG TECHNOLOGY is designed for experienced, performance-oriented riders with its ultra-stiff monocoque design. Word has been around for a while now that even PWA team riders from other brands are buying the PLATINUM. To tackle the toughest challenges, three fully customized concepts are at the start: ›Wave> <Freestyle (140 + 150) ›Wave> <Freeride (160) ›Slalom-Race (170 + 190)

WAVE SERIES: The short span flex line with a smaller opening angle at the front and a wider rear end combine to form the COUPLE BEND, which ensures a more even pull on the mast and backhand. This improves handling when riding waves and reduces fatigue when performing freestyle moves. By popular request, the PLATINUM is now also available in a MEGA SLIM version as the world's thinnest carbon arm with a tube diameter of just 24.0 mm (140-180 and 150-200).

NEW: In combination with the Duotone 2022 sails, the new VTS TAIL fitting offers a clear visual indication of the perfect length tension for the first time (patent pending).

HYBRID SERIES: The wave/freeride version with HYBRID.CURVE was specifically developed for sails in sizes 4.5 to 7.8, which can be optimally deployed, in the truest sense of the word. For the best grip comfort and a secure hold when performing duck gybes, the tail end is half covered with Pro-Grip (INSIDE THE 50% GRIPPED TAIL). The low weight, the iFRONT 2.0 front end, and the rigidity of the monocoque design make it the highest quality wave/freeride boom currently available. In addition, this boom is equipped with the new VTS TAIL attachment.

RACE SERIES: The PLATINUM booms feature tried-and-tested race/slalom curves. An additional highlight is the iTAIL RACE FITTING, whose Teflon POM plastic rollers minimize friction. Absolutely unique: the ropes can even be wound in while using a (patented) line trimming system.

The PLATINUM 170-230 features a 28 mm grip diameter, which is ideal for small and medium-sized slalom sails and all freerace sail sizes. Please note: The 170's length is primarily focused on racing, generating maximum stiffness despite the rather "small" inner tail and grip diameter. This can only be achieved through a certain pretension between the tail and the body. This pretension makes the PLATINUM 170 the stiffest boom of its kind on the market. Unfortunately, this pretension has a negative effect on comfort when adjusting the boom length. However, the 160 length (freeride-focused) comes with the same body as the 170 but features a tail end with a smaller opening angle. This results in 20% lower stiffness but much greater comfort when adjusting the length.

The brand new PLATINUM 190-250 now features a 28.5mm grip diameter plus an OVAL OUTER TAIL Rigidity The OVAL OUTER TAIL also ensures that maximum rigidity is achieved even when fully extended.
