Description
Placing a shim under the leading edge of the mast will raise the nose of the board, helping the rider adopt a more comfortable position and have greater control over the board at high speeds. Placing a shim under the trailing edge of the mast will tilt the nose down at low speeds (e.g., when pumping, dock starts, or downwind), helping the foil activate more quickly. Note: North boards and foils are designed to work together for their specific discipline without the need for shims. However, the mast shim can be useful when combining different brands of boards and foils, or when using a board or foil in conditions other than those for which it was designed.
