Marcilio Browne pushed for a 5-batten sail to provide more stability with an additional batten in the air. The Eclipse Pro is a Variowave concept, with a wide range in mind, highly capable from light winds, due to its light weight, to super-heavy storm conditions, due to its additional controllability.
As a complement to the 4-batten Banzai Pro, the 5-batten Eclipse Pro wave sail is a great choice if you are sailing in a location with large wind force changes within the sailing area, or if the wind is very gusty and you still want a "powerful" wave sail.
Heavier riders often benefit from five battens on 5.0 and larger sails.
